Sticker Socks

Hi! I’m Jessica Steeman, an all-round designer with a passion for blending creativity and functionality.

Let’s rewind to 1993, on a sunny afternoon in The Hague, just after 3 PM—a baby girl was born. Not with an HB pencil in her left hand (though wouldn’t that be cool?), but with an undeniable spark for creativity.

From a young age, I was the kid who found more joy in the box than the toy inside. A box could become anything—a piece of furniture, a puppet theater, or even an old-school airplane. That playful curiosity never left me. Fast forward to today, and my passion for exploring creative possibilities has evolved into a dynamic career in design.

Design, for me, is about more than just aesthetics. It’s about crafting solutions that work, making products and services user-friendly and accessible. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience working across a range of design projects:

At We are Nimble, I worked on creative concepts for campaigns, magazines, and various packaging and infographic designs. I worked with high-profile clients like
T-Mobile, Odido, and Karl Lagerfeld, ensuring every project delivered impactful, on-time results.
Through my own agency, Studio Steem, I created and implemented branding strategies for startups, resulting in improved brand recognition and customer trust within months.
My role at Studio Guthschmidt introduced me to the world of large-scale signage, where I designed everything from vehicle wraps to banners, managing the process from concept to final installation for clients like DAK Kinderopvang and the Dutch Government.
During my time at Basalt Revalidatie, I developed an accessible user interface for stroke patients and their caregivers, significantly enhancing usability and independence for 77% of users compared to the previous design.
Every project I’ve worked on has deepened my love for design with purpose—creating beautiful visuals that solve real problems and bring joy to users.
“I’m passionate about solving design challenges that enhance usability and accessibility for users, combining my strengths in graphic and product design.”

But let’s not forget, I’m more than a designer. I’m a creative weirdo at heart. When I’m not designing, you can find me watching horror movies (yes, I’ve seen some so often I could dream them) or a classic Disney film, because who doesn’t love a little contrast? I’m also an avid collector of quirky socks, and I volunteer as a crafting teacher at a summer day camp. Oh, and organizing? It’s my zen. Marie Kondo is definitly one of my idols.

Whether it’s crafting memorable brand identities, designing impactful digital experiences, or rolling up my sleeves to mount vehicle graphics, my goal is always the same: design that makes a difference.

Let’s create something amazing together!
